She is survived by her husband Harold Dee with whom she celebrated 69 years of marriage on Jan, 1, 2013; her daughter Lynda; brother-in-law Kenneth Glidewell of Ft. Worth; nieces: Helen Baker of Gore, Shirley (Jack) Bullock of Ft. Worth, and Phyllis (John) Houck of Minneapolis; nephews Tom Glidewell of Gore and Larry Glidewell of Ft. Worth; a special great niece Julie (Tony) Dean of Tulsa; and several other great nieces and nephews. Thank you to extended family members Jan Clark, Maria Romero Williams, Steve Williams, Grace Williams, and Pat & Allen Martin. Their tireless gift of their steadfast love, support, and friendship has been a great blessing.
Jo was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and a friend to many. She will forever be remembered for her love of life, her obsession with the beauty of butterflies, her fondness for oriental furniture, her ongoing shopping adventures, her precious little white dogs, and her favorite color of purple. Not many people actually had purple carpet in their house but Jo pulled it off with elegance and class. So many wonderful memories will keep Jo alive forever in our hearts. As sad as we are that she is gone, we are so blessed to have been a part of her life. Jo was deeply loved and she will be greatly missed every day but what joy and memories we will carry in our hearts for having loved her and for her loving us.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Jo’s memory to the India Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund at 3601 NW 36th St, OKC 73112 or that your next act of kindness to another person is made simply in loving memory of Jo.
A celebration of the life for this remarkable woman--forever remembered with love--will be held at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel, Nov. 1 at 2:00p.m., 13400 N. Kelley Ave; Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
