Wanella Jean DeVault, known by all who love her as Jean, went to be with the Lord
Tuesday, July 16th, 2019.
Jean Huffman was born February 24th, 1923 in Fairmont, West Virginia. It was there she
met her husband of 39 years, Harry DeVault. They began their life together June 29th of
1944. In 1957, they moved to Florida with their oldest son. They found their forever
home in Bonneville, where they grew and raised their family of now five.
Jean DeVault was a hard-working, God-fearing woman who never knew idle hands.
She would always find something to do, whether it be cooking for the family, playing
cards or bunco, working a puzzle, reading a good book, working out in the yard,
baking one of her delicious pies, or cleaning her house for the umpteenth time. Jean was known
for her strength, kindness, and wisdom. A true woman of gentleness and grace.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Roy Huffman and Ethel Clevenger, her brother,
Burlyn Huffman, her sister, Jackie Munza, her husband, Harry DeVault, and her son,
Mark DeVault. Her legacy continues on in her son, Reed (Mary Jane) DeVault,
daughter, Sharon (Richard) Metzger, her grandchildren, DeAnn Malecot, Steven (Kym)
DeVault, Amanda (Chris) Grigsby, Brittany (Terrance) Johannes, and Samuel DeVault,
and her great grandchildren, Madeline and Robert Malecot and Mac DeVault.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery on Saturday, July
20th, 2019 at 9:30am. The attire is business casual with NO BLACK. Jean loved her
summer colors, so we will honor that request.
