Alexis Connor Roberts

In loving memory of our cherished sister Alexis Claire, of Orlando, Florida, who peacefully passed away on her 71st birthday, August 27, 2026. Loving daughter of the late Ruth and Sam Connor. Survived by 5 siblings and the 8th Connor kid, nephew Edward Lombard. “Lexi” is also survived by stepson Matt and 7 nieces and nephews. She had great love for all.

In honoring Alexis, we turn to an inspirational quote embodying the essence of her life from one of her favorite poets. Alexis was an inspiration- a beacon of warmth and care. She had an extraordinary intellectual capacity.

Alexis was born in 1955 in Newark, NJ and moved with her large and growing family to Cinnaminson, NJ in 1960. Her nickname from Grandmother Fleming was “Fudgie”. She attended St. Charles Borromeo grade school where she was Queen of the May. Alexis attended Holy Cross High School where she had academic success and was a starter on the girl’s basketball team.

Alexis graduated from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 3 years. She also has a graduate degree in Education from Glassboro. Lexi got straight A’s throughout her entire academic career. She was one disciplined, hardworking, smart cookie.

She worked at a fine department store though her college years and Alexis was also a fine shopper. No discount was left undiscovered!

Her first career was as a school teacher in a poor area. She gave those kids love and balance. Ready for a change, Alexis took the courses to be a paralegal and moved to Florida and had a second outstanding career. She was involved in high profile cases and wound up running the legal department at her large firm.

Alexis had a lifelong love of sports playing softball and basketball in her youth. Alexis grew up loving the Phillies and she attended many games with friends and family. The Connor girls formed the infield for an undefeated team in an adult league. She had her scuba diving certification.

Lexi had a lifelong love affair with her cats in New Jersey and Florida. She was devoted to them.

Alexis had a love of music and concerts attending John Denver, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins and others with friends and family. Sister Meg recalled a memorable concert with Simon and Garfunkel and shared with me Lexi’s favorite lryrics.

The memories fly by Alexis, so many memories…NY Worlds Fair, Jersey shore, Montauk, Expo 67 in Montreal, Florida trips, Aunt Steffie’s all the Connor Sunday dinners, and Asbury Park (we won’t mention the time tunnel), and all of my families trips to FLALA land.

So Alexis. So my sister Lexi. I am picturing you with sister Helen poolside at a place like the Don Cesar with a beverage of your choice on a beautiful day. Love you Lex and until we meet again…

A memorial service will be held at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817, US, on September 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
