The third of eight children, Andrea was born in 1938 in Toronto, Ontario to parents Malcolm and Anne. Andrea met her husband, Doug McGrath when they both attended Earl Haig Collegiate in Toronto. They were married in the 1960s in Southern California and went on to have six children. Married life began in Los Angeles, but Andrea and Doug and their young family soon made a home in Orlando, Florida where Andrea lived the rest of her days. Later in life, Andrea found a loving partner in Richard Dell.
Andrea, or “Angie,” was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends, enjoying the commotion and chaos that comes with large gatherings. She was very welcoming and created a warm and inviting home where everyone could be themselves and feel loved. One of her passions was decorating for the holidays and setting a beautiful dining table for all her loved ones and friends. Andrea also enjoyed playing tennis, spending time at the beach, laughing with friends, and curling up with a great novel. She had such a calm and loving nature and was always ready with a smile and a huge heart.
While Andrea loved being a homemaker and raising her family, she eventually supported her husband in the real estate business for several years. Andrea later began working with professional golfers and took pride in planning one of the country’s most popular annual golf tournaments year after year.
Andrea was predeceased by two of her children Michelle McGrath and Andrew McGrath. Andrea is survived by four of her children Joe (Cheryl) McGrath, Kerry (Frank Rafter) McGrath, Patty (Brad) Milam, Amy (Derek) Liou and was “Nana” to 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
