
Ann was born on the 5th of February 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1958 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Linfield College in 1962. After raising her children, she went on to earn her Master of Arts in Counseling in 1988 from Regent University (then CBN University). After becoming a born again Christian in 1974, Ann dedicated her life’s work to sharing the love of Jesus.
Ann became a Nationally Certified Licensed Professional Counselor in 1992. She had a career in Counseling at Resource Guidance Services Inc. and Hope Haven Children’s Home and Senior Adult Home in VA Beach, VA.
She had a passion for helping people in need and started the Barnabas Ministry at Harvest Assembly of God in Chesapeake, VA. In 2003, despite almost losing her life to a rare genetic liver disease, she received a liver transplant and went on to help more people, friends and family through her time, love and prayers. In Orlando, Florida, Ann volunteered at Wycliffe Bible Translators; The Jesus Film; and Campus Crusade for Christ. She was a life long student and learned the Hebrew language. Last residing in Orlando, FL, Ann enjoyed making many happy memories with her home church and friends at Beit Israel.
She is predeceased by her former husband, Dick S. Reed (married 1962-1978).
She is survived by her loving son Eugene Reed (Ingrid), and daughters Deborah Reed and Crystal Rathke (Christian), Sister Carol Oakes (Jim), five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Ann was laid to rest at Baldwin Fairchild Chapel Hill Mausoleum on December 7th, 2022. She is truly a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
