Born Candice Charalee Cameron on January 15, 1953 in Sandwich, Illinois, Candy was a wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who loved her family unconditionally.
Her passions as an adult were most strongly tied to the ocean, becoming an expert scuba diver, while encouraging many of her family members to experience the underwater world along with her. The joy she derived from the peaceful calm among all forms of sea life exhilarated her tremendously.
Over the years, her deep affection for dozens of her dogs, especially Shelby, Gizmo and Piper was equaled only by her love of the New York Yankees and her grandson Ricky’s baseball games she streamed on her IPad.
She moved to Flint, Michigan as a child and as a young adult migrated to Orlando, Florida, only briefly leaving the Sunshine State during the remainder of her life. Toward the end, she was able to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the Florida Keys, which was a lifelong dream.
She was a strong, determined person gifted with a high degree of common sense and care for those around her. Her adventurous spirit fueled much of her life. As a spouse, she was a perfect complement to her husband, Richard, and as a mother, her life was, in many ways, the connective tissue of the family. Her grand, generous Christmas celebrations were legendary, unifying and joyous.
Candice is survived by her loving husband of almost 45 years, Richard Tamborrino; her children, Bill Petrik, Rebecca Petrik Henry and Richard Tamborrino II; her grandchildren, Brianne, Tori, Madison and Ricky; by her sister, Kimberly Banks and her niece Brittany Jenkins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Taft 9284 second ave., preceded by visitation at 10:00 a.m. for friends and family who wish to pay their respects before the service. The burial will occur at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2410 Harrell Rd. in Orlando at 1:00 p.m.
