Carlos was born on February 8, 1961, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, to his parents Antonio Roque and Maria Gregoria Velasquez. He was the eldest of six siblings.
Carlos had a deep passion for sports; in his younger years, he played baseball and basketball. His enthusiasm for sports was particularly evident in his love for boxing, but his greatest passion was horse racing.
Throughout his life, Carlos enjoyed dancing salsa, especially to the music of Frankie Ruiz, Mark Anthony, and El Gran Combo, among many other salsa legends. He became well-known as a Salsero, and he truly cherished the dance floor.
After relocating to Orlando, Carlos took on a role as a Banquet Server at the Marriott Grande Lakes, dedicating over 22 years to this position. He loved his job, where he formed friendships that evolved into a second family. His gentle, warm, and caring nature drew people to him, and he never met a stranger; he
genuinely loved everyone he encountered.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Alexza, and his son, Christian. In his marriage to Alexza, the love of his life, Carlos showed tender care and compassion, and his sweet smile will always be remembered.
As a father, Christian remembers Carlos as his best friend, a brother-like figure, his confidant, and his number one supporter.
Carlos is also survived by a multitude of family and friends who cherish him and will remember him fondly. It is clear that during his lifetime, Carlos touched many lives.
Carlos, your sweet, gentle smile, wonderful sense of humor, and love for conversation will be deeply missed.
