Clifton Earl Johnson, aged 70, of Elderslie, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, W.I. and Orlando, Florida, USA, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. His career included working at the Jamaica Gleaner in Kingston and almost 20 years as a Supervisor of Securities Lending at JP Morgan Chase Bank in New York. “Guy” or “Johnny” as he was affectionately called will be missed by many.
Celebrating his life are: loving wife, Edna; daughter, Alicia (Lisa); sons, Norman (Mark) and Dwayne; grandchildren, Aria Rose, Chadwick, Nathalia, Fiona, Bryan, Damien, Norman Jr. and Clifton Jr; great-grandchildren Michael (Mac), Jonah and Ariana; brothers, Leslie and Neville (Bibsy); nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends from all walks of life.
Clifton (Guy) was predeceased by parents Icilda Wright (Miss Icy) and William Johnson, as well as siblings, Alma, Alvin, Seville (Lurline), Barrington (Barry), Viola (Gwendy), Basil, Elaine and Roy.
Clifton was a fiercely loyal and protective family man, and he considered his children his pride and joy. He had a green-thumb and used his talent to cultivate exotic fruits and vegetables which he lovingly attended to as a form of relaxation. He was also proud of the Jamaican restaurant he owned and operated in Orlando, Florida. The sweet melodic sounds of reggae music were never far from his mind and he cherished it as his connection to the land of his birth, Jamaica.
Thanksgiving Service for his life will be held at the International Harvest Church of God, 2740 Old Winter Garden Road, Orlando, Florida 32805, USA on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Tributes will begin at 10:30am. The Funeral Service will follow starting at 11:30am.
Interment will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery at 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817, USA.
