A REALLY GOOD MAN
My husband, James “Jim” Graveley, passed from this life on March 6. Jim’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in his honor on Saturday, May 2, 2026, between 1-3 p.m. at the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cemetery at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817, phone number 407-671-3919. We will begin with visitation, light snacks, drinks, and comradery, followed by music, videos, stories, and laughter. There will not be a graveside service.
Our theme for this celebration is “Forever in Bluejeans,” like the Neil Diamond song, because it fits Jim’s casual but hard-working character perfectly. If you would like to, please join the family in wearing your favorite, comfortable bluejeans, with a graphic T-shirt, shirt or cap that expresses what means something to you. Some of Jim’s favorites were guns and ammo, hunting or target shooting, Jeeps, 4-wheeling, ATVs, Chevy trucks, “Rat Fink” automotive artwork, muscle cars, NASCAR, camping, forests and mountains, wildlife, John Denver, Jeff Gordon, and pro-President Trump, as well as the companies for which Jim worked. He was also a Lifetime member of the NRA and belonged to the Seminole County Gun and Archery Club. I think his all-time favorite was acquired when he joined the “Grampa Club” in 2015 with the birth of his grandson, Zachary.
Jim loved to tell stories, and the more often he told them, they grew, like tall tales. He liked to make people laugh, and he could laugh at himself. I am putting together a collection of music, photos, videos, and personal stories to share at his memorial. If you have a story or anecdote related to Jim that you would care to share, I encourage you to come and let us hear it. You could also make a voice recording or video on your phone and send it to me in a text message at 407-739-6087. I would like to include it in the video.
No flowers are requested. If you would like to do something in remembrance of Jim, you might make a donation of time or money supporting our military and law enforcement personnel and be sure to thank them all for their service, including their families, who also sacrifice for each and every one of us. Thank you on Jim’s behalf. Martha Graveley
