Jeanette was born in 1938 in Miami, Florida. Her parents and brother, Alan and Jeanette moved to Suwanee, Florida in Jeanette’s senior year of high school, and after high school she attended St. Petersburg Community College. Jeanette would eventually move to the Orlando area where she would work for the United Cerebral Palsy organization as an administrative assistant, while she raised her 2 children, Teresa and Keith. She eventually met the love of her life, Wynn “Winnie” Fernandes and they proceeded to develop a number of successful businesses, and Jeanette, or as Wynn called her “Nettie” handled all the bookkeeping for the businesses. Jeanette loved children, and volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem in Seminole County, FL, and as a pre-school assistant at the Jewish Community Center in Maitland, FL. Jeanette lost her beloved brother Alan in the 90’s and her soul-mate Winnie in 2008. She eventually found a lot of love and friendship working as a greeter at Cracker Barrell. Nettie and Winnie loved to travel, particularly to natural places like Lake Tahoe and the Keys. Nettie loved to cook for her friends and family particularly on Sundays when she would make fried chicken dinner and everyone was invited. Nettie loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team, and shared that interest with her son Keith and her “other son” Michael Fernandes, who both took her to many games.
