

Joanna Pugh (née Bass), a cherished figure known for her loving and kind-hearted nature, passed away on July 29, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 91. Born on March 21, 1933, in Ozark, Alabama, Joanna spent her life nurturing deep and meaningful relationships, touching the lives of everyone she met with her warmth and generosity.
Joanna was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Pugh Sr., and a devoted mother to Dan Pugh and his wife Tinna, Ralph Pugh Jr. and his wife Sun Yung, and Dawn Pugh and her partner AJ. She was a proud grandmother to Ralph, Sandi, Ben, Sean, Abigail, L'Wren, and Rai', and a great-grandmother to Toki, Sarah, and Ben. Joanna also leaves behind her loving sisters, Sarah Finch and Jean Gary. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Pugh, her husband, and her parents and siblings, with whom she is now reunited.
Throughout her life, Joanna was an avid reader and a crossword puzzle enthusiast, often found with a book in hand or pondering a challenging puzzle. Her intellectual curiosity and sharp wit were hallmarks of her personality.
Joanna also played a significant role as an Air Force spouse, supporting her husband's military career for over 20 years with dedication and resilience. Her involvement in the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star community was marked by unwavering support and companionship to fellow families.
A brief graveside service to honor Joanna's life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Chapel Hill Cemetery, located at 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817. A Celebration of Life will follow, where family and friends can share memories and honor her legacy. Chapel Hill Cemetery is also assisting the family during this time.
Joanna's life was a testament to the power of love and the bonds of family. Her legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who had the fortune to know her.
