Born in Peru, Julia moved to the United States at a young age. She worked for Ms. Mary Jo Kraft and later for Mrs. Ethel Kennedy and her extended family. She also worked at Bloomingdale’s in Tysons Corner, Virginia, before moving to Florida, where she spent her later years in Orlando.
Julia was preceded in death by her beloved son, Juan Luis Acosta, who passed away at the age of 52. She is survived by her grandsons, Michael and Douglas; her great-granddaughter, Ashley; and her great-grandson, Jackson Louis and daughter in law Susan. She also leaves behind her niece Romy in Palm Beach, Florida, and many nieces and nephews in Peru and Spain. Her family finds comfort in imagining the joy of her reunion with Juan.
Julia was a dear friend to many, including Zenaida, Patricia, David, Miriam, Jim, and her many other friends and neighbors, who took care of her with love, respect, and great kindness, as if she was part of their family.
When Julia was a bit younger, she had so much energy and she loved animals! She was devoted to protecting and rescuing them. Fearless in her work, she got the vaccinations needed to care for wildlife and helped hundreds of animals recover and return to the wild at two different wildlife rescue centers in Florida. She loved to feed birds, squirrels, and any furry friend she could encounter. She was a true hero!
Those cages and enclosures were always kept clean. You can appreciate many photos of her with her furry babies throughout this service.
She also loved watching her favorite football team, the Redskins, spending time with friends, and enjoying a glass of vino in the afternoon. Julia was a strong woman — something anyone who knew her could not deny — but she was also deeply honest, funny, kindhearted, great at giving advice, and a loving friend. Her compassion, spirit, and friendship will be remembered always. Cheers to you in Heaven Julia! May you Rest in Peace.
