

Maria “Coco” Socorro Dominguez was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, and friend. She was brought into this world on May 11, 1944 in Soledad Diez Gutierrez, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. She was later called home on March 17, 2023 at 6:57PM surrounded by her loved ones at Dr. Phillips - Orlando Health Hospital at age 78. She’ll always be known for her infamous red vest that she wore no matter the occasion, her love for the smell of rubbing alcohol and Vaporub, and her love for the sounds of Vicente Fernandez, Ramón Ayala, and disco music.
Maria was a devout Catholic who prayed for anyone who crossed paths with her. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Guadalupanas group at Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in East Chicago, IN, which was such a great honor for her that she even got her grandchildren involved. She had such a fierce faith that she wanted to attend to both the sick and healthy by praying and caring for them. She was also Godmother to many children.
She is survived by her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, 4 siblings, 27 nieces and nephews, and many beloved great nieces and nephews. Her children include: George “Georgie” Dominguez, Ezequiel “Secky” Dominguez (Life Partner: Natalie; Wife: Paula), and Maria “Chachita” Dominguez. Her grandchildren from Maria include: Julian Dominguez (Fiancée: Chi Lai Cheung), Viviana Plaza (Life Partner: Gerald Akujobi Jr.), Ariana Plaza, Giovanni Dominguez, and Gerardo Dominguez. Her grandchildren from Ezequiel include: Lisa Dominguez, Gisele Dominguez, Zoe Dominguez (Kenny), and Delano Dominguez. Her great grandchildren include: Elijah “Elias” Kai Dominguez (Julian) and Zaiden Lamont Matthews (Zoe). Her surviving siblings include: Miguel M. Mendez (Wife: Juanita), Esther M. Castro (Husband: Teodoro), Hermelinda Romero (Husband: Carlos), and Jesus Mendez (Wife: Milena). She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Maria Mendez, the love of her life George Dominguez, her sister Raquel M. Castro (Husband: Antonio), her beloved cat Gato Blanco and many more. She touched countless lives, and her family will never forget the beautiful memories made with Maria.
