Marie Therese Guerrier

Marie Therese Guerrier was born on January 23rd, 1940, in Petion-Ville, Haiti. She was raised by two hardworking and loving parents who worked tirelessly to raise eight children. Marie grew up in a large family and had six brothers and one sister.

Her mother, Clara Charles, was a baker at the Cabana Choucoun hotel in Haiti, and her father, Leonard Charles, worked in construction. She attended Fernand Prosper Bois Verna, where she received her college degree.

Marie came to New York in 1963 and was introduced to a young man by the name of Jean Claude Guerrier. They fell in love and were married on August 28, 1967, remaining in holy matrimony for 57 years. Together, they raised three beautiful children: Rachel, Marjorie, and Patrick.

Marie received her degree as a nurse's aide and went on to pursue her certification in phlebotomy. In 1975, she was hired by Prospect Park Nursing Home and remained with the organization for 35 years.

Marie was the heart and soul of our family. She was a loving, beautiful, and wonderful mother, wife, aunt, sister, and friend. Marie was passionate about health and wellness and subscribed to Prevention magazines, as well as enjoyed being a member of the YMCA. She loved cooking, traveling, decorating, reading, and, most importantly, being in the presence of her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her husband Jean Claude Guerrier, daughters Rachel and Marjorie, son Patrick, daughter-in-law Arlene, grandchildren Jelani, Aniya, Elise, Makaila and Horace; her siblings, Andree, Jean, Fred, sister-in-law Marie Yolene, Fritz, Raymond, sister-in-law Elourde, Sister in laws, Elvire, Evelyn, Ginette, Brother in laws, Antonio Jr & Jack, In addition to being blessed with many nieces and nephews.

Marie was loved by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her husband, children, family, and friends. We will always keep her memories etched in our hearts and minds forever.

A funeral service for Marie will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Faith Assembly, 9307 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, FL 32825. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817.
