Martha Barley

Marti was just shy by two months of celebrating her milestone 100th birthday. She moved to her Heavenly home on July 13, 2026. Born September 4, 1926, and raised in Charlotte NC, Martha later moved to Jacksonville, FL with her World War II veteran husband Ernest and their three children…Jim, Delores and Crawford. Later they settled in Orlando where she was employed at Dickson & Ives Department Store. She was also a proud ten-year Walt Disney World cast member in the Vista-United Telecommunications call center where she had perfect attendance for several years. Martha loved gospel and rock ‘n roll music from the ‘50s and ‘60s especially Elvis. She was a self-taught talented seamstress and served as her church’s piano accompanist. She had a way with her quirky homespun sayings which entertained the caring staff as a resident of Brookdale Senior Living in Dr. Phillips, FL. Martha is pre-deceased by husband Ernest, son James Barley, daughter Delores Barley Matheny, son-in-law Harold Matheny, sister Mary Cushenbery, and is survived by son Crawford Barley (Donna), nephew Steve Koffinas (Joan), daughter-in-law Joyce Barley, ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Interment is beside her husband Ernest and son Jim at Oak Hill Cemetery in Orlando.
