Mary was preceded in death by her father Robert B. Cornett and her mother Molly L. Cornett, her brothers Robert W. Cornett, Raleigh L. Cornett, and her sister Myrtle (Tootice) Hughett.
Mary is survived by her sister Martha S. Boots (Vernon). Her four children James Padgett (Davida), Sandra Alexandre, Sheila Naufel (Christopher), and Jamey Padgett (Marcy). Mary has 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mary was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the University of Kentucky basketball program, and watched them religiously. Mary loved to spend time with her family, and special times with all of her 1st cousins reminiscing.
On mom's epitaph she wrote "I love you all"
Mom is loved and will be missed deeply, but we take comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord above.
Mary will be laid to rest on August 5, 2019 10:30 a.m. at Baldwin Fairchild At Chapel Hill.
The family request instead of flowers send donations to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
