We are saddened by the news of Rogers passing. He was a joy to be around . For nearly fifty years he brightened the entry doors to North Park. He will be missed.

Seven years ago we visited North Park after moving from Tampa. Our first and lasting impression was Roger giving my wife a big hug. Little did we know how much we would come to love Roger and Joyce over these years. We will certainly miss his zest and enthusiasm for life. But mostly the genuine love he had for people, it was a great reflection of Christs love here on earth. Our prayers are with the family for peace and comfort during these days.

My wife and I knew Roger and Joyce many years ago when we were members of North Park Baptist Church. I remember his outgoing personality and ever present smile and laughter. We always enjoyed being around him.
I'm sure he will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Joyce, you are in our thoughts and prayers. You and Roger welcomed and loved us! His love of college football, his home state of Mississippi, Jerry Clower, required church hugs, laughter, and family were heartwarming to so many. His love of Jesus Christ and His church defined his true heart and eternal destiny. May God comfort you with His presence and grace.

Dearest Simmons family, We were so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. Know he is with the Lord now full and whole. His life was filled with family, friends and his love for the Lord. What a rewarding life it was. May you hold tight to the Lord knowing he will be with every step of the way as you continue your journey without him but knowing you will see him in just a little while. Blessings and love.

We pray God will hold you all in His hands and give you peace and comfort. We are sure Roger's having a ball up in heaven, especially watching his beloved Seminoles! We're a phone call away if you need anything. Love you all.

My husband and I moved into our home in 2016. We were outside working on our landscaping when Roger came out of his back door (he and his wife, Joyce, lives directly behind us), to introduced himself to us. We were so impressed by the way he immediately welcomed us to the neighborhood. He made us feel as though we had known him all of our lives. We hit it off immediately. When we met Joyce, she too gave us a warm welcoming, giving us the comfort in knowing we made the right choice in moving into our home.
We visited him and Joyce a few times, until I fell and broke my back, and found myself having a long road to recovery. I am now slowly able to move around, and because of my long recovery, I wasn't able to visit them as often as I wished,. Recently, when we were ready to revisit them and catch up on recent times. we received news that he was failing. Because we lost touch, lately, we didn't know how advanced his health had really become. We wish we had known sooner, as now we lost a wonderful neighbor, and feel saddened by his passing, before we could ever get to say goodbye.
We shall never forget our wonderful, welcoming, neighbor. Both him and Joyce are still people we consider part of our new family in Florida.
May Joyce now find peace in the difficult times ahead. Our thoughts and prayers 🙏 will remain with her and her family as they move forward. May they find comfort in remembering the good times, and hold in their hearts the memories they all had shared together.
May God Bless, Roger, and keep him in His Loving Care, forever.
All our love and prayers are with you always.
Your neighbors,
Mike and Jean Santoro
