I remember how happy and excited Al was when he brought Brenda to Turkey as his wife and how many wonderful trips we had to Istanbul with them and other friends. We all became family as we spent the time away from home. Sweet man! Lovely people

My life changed, forever for the better in May of 1971.  In a chance meeting I found my best friend and the person I vowed "until death do us part".  That came much sooner than it should have but I have comfort in knowing that he left me in the care of two sons that he couldn't have been more proud of. Our hearts were broken when we were told of your passing.  Memories quickly flooded our thoughts ~ newly married couples in Turkey, playing Rook, after swing shift bowling leagues...but the best was when we got together with our kids.  Tubing down the river and you screaming, loudly protesting how cold the water was each time we got back in to do it all over again...and it was very cold.  You got a horrible sunburn...it was painful, but you laughed through it all.  Lots of memories....memories to cherish forever.  It's so very hard to say good-bye, so instead we will say "Until we meet again sweet friend...God Speed, Alan, God Speed"....

Alan was one of my first customers when I started with Yellow Freight (YRC Freight). He was a wonderful person and I learned a lot about the trucking industry from him. He will be deeply missed.

Well, my friend, our hearts were broken when we received the news of your passing.  Memories flooded our thoughts... I remember Alan and Brenda and Steven during their time living in Yalova, Turkey. 
They were wonderful friends and made Turkey feel more like home and them family. When my son moved to Missouri and worked in Kansas, they looked him up and had a nice visit. Good people, good friends, and Alan will be sincerely missed. He leaves behind a wonderful family and wonderful memories for all of them--and all he touched. I had a great association with Alan when we were over the cubicle wall buddies at Yellow.  He was a hard and meticulous worker for yellow.  He really cared about what he did.  We got along very well even if he supported the Jayhawks and I, the Tigers.  Al, I will miss you.

It was my privilege to work with Alan 14 years. Alan had the best disposition and was well liked. We both retired within 2 months of each other. We shared our excitement of retiring. Such a wonderful man. RIP ALAN

I also met Alan through his son Steve.  I always enjoyed having him up at the bowling alley cheering us to victory. He will be missed by many, but the memories we've all shared will be cherished.

I met Alan through Steve and enjoyed talking with him at bowling on Tuesday nights and at tournaments. He was a great dad and grandfather and will definitely be missed.  Take strength in the love of family and friends to get you through these very tough times.
