Barbara K. Schauf, age 93, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6th, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She entered eternal rest after a long life marked by compassion, service, and deep love for her family. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, who passed away in 2003.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13th at 10:00 am at the Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212. There will be a Rosary at 11:00 am and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church immediately following the Rosary. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in the Mausoleum, 8321 Quivira Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215. Barbara devoted more than 20 years of her professional life as an Occupational Therapist, where she faithfully served others by helping them learn and regain essential life skills. Her work was not just a career, but a calling—one that reflected her generous heart and commitment to caring for others with patience and dignity.
She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Sheila Davila and Melinda Blansit, and her son, Mickey Schauf. Barbara also took great joy in her role as grandmother and was immensely proud of her four grandsons (Nicholas Blansit, William Blansit, Ryan Davila, Griffin Schauf), who brought her much happiness and purpose throughout her life.
Barbara’s life was a testament to faith, love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
