Bernice B. Seifert

Bernice B. Seifert passed away on died February 15, 2014 at Villa St. Francis. Bernice was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 22, 1915 to Joseph Bober and Constance Karnarski. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three children, Joseph Seifert, Jr (La Donla), Katherine Klein and Frank Seifert (Donna); grandchildren, Andrew, Laura, Martin, Suzanne, Joseph, Michael, Ashlye, Heather, Sarah and Russell; great grandchildren Junior, Samantha, William, Margaret and Patrick and great, great grandchildren Devlin and Mathew.

Bernice worked as a nurses aid at Olathe Community Hospital. She started in the old original hospital, moved to the newer hospital and retired before the current hospital was opened. Bernice lived in Lenexa, Kansas from 1948–1998, moved to Bluejacket Lodge in Shawnee, Kansas until 2010 when she moved to Villa St. Francis. Bernice was a lifetime member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for 50 years and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee for 12 years.

Services will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday, February 24. Visitation will be at 9:30, a holy rosary will be recited at 10:15, funeral mass at 10:30 with the burial at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to Catholic Community Hospice, 9740 W 87th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212.
