We lost one of the most wonderful, crazy, and funny ladies this world has ever had walk on it. Bernice Plush Bauer, peacefully crossed over to the other side on Friday, May 9th at 12:05 AM. Kelly Bauer, and his sister, Kristi Bauer Kramer will deeply miss her. Mom would have turned 90 years old this June 15th. Growing up in the small western Kansas town of Burdett, she had a great life with her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, our dad, Les Bauer, until he passed 9 years ago, on May 16th (they married 70 years ago).
After many years of being a “golf widow” on Saturdays, she decided to finally take Les up on the many years of offering her golf lessons. She loved it! She was the social butterfly of Brookridge Country Club and met many life-long friends.
Along with many friends, Bernice leaves behind Daughter-in-Law, Billie Wilson Bauer & Son-in-Law John Kramer, her cherished grandchildren, Ryann Hemphill (Nate), Chase Lindeman, and Cheyenne Rathert (Steven); great grandchildren, Myles Hemphill, Cedar & Hollis Rathert.
When mom walked into a room, everyone knew the party was going to start. She loved everyone she met and when meeting her they knew they had met a new friend.
Mom, we love you and know dad had a tee time set for your arrival with dancing and a martini after the round.
We are so happy, you and dad are again hand in hand.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs.
