Betsy Jane Weber (Maley) passed away peacefully in Overland Park, Kansas, on June 11, 2025, at the age of 98. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Martin and Helen Maley, Betsy was one of six sisters raised in a close-knit Irish Catholic family.
She married the love of her life, Vince Weber, on June 28, 1947, and together they shared 55 years of marriage until Vince’s passing in 2003. They built a home filled with love, faith, and joy, raising two children and embracing every moment spent with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose vivacious and joyful spirit touched all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Vince Weber Jr. and Geri Padley (Ron); her grandchildren, Chris Weber (Hillary), Nicholas Padley (Rebecca), Brian Padley (Stephanie), and Patrick Padley (Nicole); and her thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her deep joy. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Jamie and daughter-in-law Linda, and now joins them in eternal rest, along with her husband Vince Sr. and her six sisters.
Betsy and Vince were longtime members of Milburn Country Club, where she enjoyed countless rounds of golf and proudly achieved a hole-in-one. Together, they were longtime parishioners at Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, Kansas, and in her later years, Betsy attended Ascension Catholic Church in Overland Park.
Faith was at the heart of Betsy’s life. She and Vince shared a particular devotion to the Rosary. She was also known for her generous spirit, her love of the beach, her fondness for family gatherings, and her firm, yet deeply affectionate nature. Betsy had a beautiful ability to make those around her feel special and loved. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her laughter, faith, and the lasting example she gave through a life rooted in love.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., all at Ascension Catholic Church, 9510 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, Kansas, on Thursday, June 19. A reception for family and friends will follow in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas in Betsy's name.
