Carol Lynn Smith

She was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on October 1, 1945, the daughter of Jack and Jane Clark, late of Springfield, Missouri.

She was a graduate of North Kansas City High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. After college Carol worked as a hostess for TWA until she became a homemaker to raise her two sons, Adrian M. Smith (Margo) of Lakewood, Colorado, and David S. Smith (Amy) of Summerville, South Carolina. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James R. (J.R.) Smith; her sons; three grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Milo and Charlie and her brother, Stephen F. Clark of Godfrey, Illinois. Carol was an active member of the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Wesley Covenant Chapel, followed by a brief reception. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to the Catholic Community Hospice at 9740 W. 87th St. in Overland Park, Kansas, or a charity of your choice.
