

Carole Faye Allen, 74, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully during the evening of September 3, 2017. She was born November 7, 1942 to Frank and Thelma Allen in Kansas City, MO. Her father was killed in WWII before she knew him, but she was blessed to be adopted by Norman Holy when he married Thelma and was the only father she ever knew. She resided in Overland Park her entire life surrounded by family and friends. She lived on a farm for a short time before Overland Park began to develop. She attended Shawnee Mission North High School where she met her future husband, Dvern. They were married October of 1961. Her passions were centered around family and children. After raising her own children, she worked part-time at Valley View Methodist Church with the MDO program. She continued by helping raise all of the grandchildren and was an integral part of their lives. She loved hosting family holidays and always worked around everyone’s schedule as it was less about the holiday and more about the family being together. She was an incredible mom, grandma, great grandma and wife who will be truly missed as she was the heart of the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dvern, of 55 years. Survivors include children, Mark Allen (Julie), Mary Huwe (Chris) and John Allen (Andrea); grandchildren, Scott, Stephanie (Lewis), Meg, Max, Maddie, Sydney and Natalie and great grandchildren, Lewis and Eleanor.
Visitation will be 2:00pm - 3:30pm, Sunday, Sept. 10th followed by the funeral service at 3:30pm at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel. Private family burial.
