Constance Kayleene “Kay” St. Peter, 83 years old, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 28, 2022, at Saint Luke’s Hospital after a short hospitalization related to long-standing medical problems. The family will hold a Celebration of Kay’s life on Saturday, August 6, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Service Program at 2:00 pm) at The Candle Club, 6135 E. 13th Street, Wichita, Kansas 67208 (located in the back of the Prairie Village Shopping Center, 13th and Woodlawn, Wichita, KS). In accordance with Kay’s wishes and Catholic tradition, a prayer vigil will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, with the funeral service immediately following at 10:30 at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main St., Kansas City, MO. Kay’s remains will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in Wichita, near the final resting place of her parents and many other family members. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the March of Dimes to support their work preventing premature births. Kay was born in Hill City, KS, on January 21, 1939, and spent her early years in Damar, KS, before moving with her family to Wichita where she graduated from St. Mary’s Cathedral High School. Kay was married to Donald M. St. Peter for many years and was later divorced. While raising her sons, Kay attended Wichita State University and played Division 1 tennis. Kay was a competitive bridge player, a Wichita City tennis champion, and an enthusiast of many other activities. Kay worked in several entrepreneurial endeavors throughout her life.
Kay is preceded in death by her newborn son, Gerald, her parents Bertha and Hubert Conyac, her sisters, Shirley Unruh and Barbara Brassfield, and her brother, Joe Conyac. Kay is survived by sisters Gloria Ryker (James), Claudia White (Stanley), Donna Berney, Cindy Brown (Marty) and brother Rick Conyac (Sue); her four sons Bob (Anne), John (Carolyn), Steven (Francois) and David (Kristine); and seven grandchildren Madeleine (Thomas), Lauren, Jack, Caroline, Austin, Claire and William, with her first greatgrandchild on the way.
