Delpha Louise Thomason

Passed away on May 3, 2020

For, Delpha Louise Thomason, Mother, Love and Friend

Born: February 14th, Valentine's Day, 1935 ~ Died: May 3rd, 5:00 pm, 2020

I used to say, in my prayerful ways; Though home, is where her heart is, it's also, where those stairs are. So God, who blest her home, help her, with those stairs.

But now I say, in my prayerful ways; Now that she's left her home, for a room, all her own, God, who blest her soul, please help her, up 'THOSE STAIRS'.

And too I say, as always, in my prayerful ways; with hugs and kisses, prayers, and well wishes, (with all the love I can send you, for where ever you may go, goodbye Mom). ~ Vincent A. Thomason (May 3, 2020)

Yond the knotty pines of cabin logs, Down the stoney trail mid golden rods, near the cattail-lined ol' fishing pond, side the poly wogs blue swimming hole, You'll find her walking home without her walker, without her cane, where the only pain she has, is the walking-pangs for home. ~ Vincent A. Thomason (May 7, 2020)

I could talk about her childhood, mid the dust bowl and Atom bomb, but I won't.

I could talk about her marriage, turning seventeen, of sixty three years, but I won't.

I could talk about her working life, while raising three kids, but I won't.

I could talk about her yard and home, how impeccable she maintained both, but I won't.

I could talk about her art, how mysterious, frightful and funny they still are, but I won't.

Yeah, I could talk about those things more than I just have, but I won't. I can always talk about these things later, And since I won't, let me just say that, Mom took, in great pains, well care of her family, all of her family. Including those, outside of, as welcome members.

So, with that being said; Thanks Mom, You did good! ~ Vincent A. Thomason (May 10, 2020)

Louise was a wonderful painter and enjoyed painting. My mother, Betty, was Louise’s first cousin. Mom remembers that Louise taught all three of her sons to cook and Mom thought that was wonderful. Louise always kept her home very neat and took pride in her home. When my daughter, Laura, graduated from seminary and was ordained to Christian ministry, Louise sent a nice card to her. Louise was a wonderful person and she will be missed.

I was blessed to have such a cool Grandma. She never missed a birthday or holiday. I always received that card, and once Kyler was born, so did he. I'll miss our walks in the parks, trips to the mall, and late night cartoons. She was a strong, open-minded woman who lived a peaceful life and I wish to some day follow in her footsteps. We love you, Grandma.

I have so many fond memories, I can’t pick just one. From going bowling to watching our favorite cartoons together. She was unique and an awesome Grandma. She was a real, authentic, honest human being, and I’m lucky to have known her. I will miss her

Dear Delpha, I will miss you. You were the strangest person I have ever met, and also very unique. I don't think that there was any thing you couldn't do. I have a great respect for you. Also, your artwork is out of this world. I love you White Buffalo Woman. Suzanne

My mom has always been a source of strength for me while growing up. She always enjoyed the grandkids and cared about the family. My wife, Suzanne, and I loved her and will miss her deeply. Your pain is fine now, mom. You are in His Hands.
