For, Delpha Louise Thomason, Mother, Love and Friend
Born: February 14th, Valentine's Day, 1935 ~ Died: May 3rd, 5:00 pm, 2020
I used to say, in my prayerful ways; Though home, is where her heart is, it's also, where those stairs are. So God, who blest her home, help her, with those stairs.
But now I say, in my prayerful ways; Now that she's left her home, for a room, all her own, God, who blest her soul, please help her, up 'THOSE STAIRS'.
And too I say, as always, in my prayerful ways; with hugs and kisses, prayers, and well wishes, (with all the love I can send you, for where ever you may go, goodbye Mom). ~ Vincent A. Thomason (May 3, 2020)
DOWN THE STONEY GOLDEN-ROD TRAIL
Yond the knotty pines
of cabin logs,
Down the stoney trail
mid golden rods,
near the cattail-lined
ol' fishing pond,
side the poly wogs
blue swimming hole,
You'll find her walking home
without her walker,
without her cane,
where the only pain she has,
is the walking-pangs for home. ~ Vincent A. Thomason (May 7, 2020)
WHAT I WON'T TALK ABOUT DELPHA
I could talk about her childhood,
mid the dust bowl and Atom bomb,
but I won't.
I could talk about her marriage,
turning seventeen, of sixty three years,
but I won't.
I could talk about her working life,
while raising three kids,
but I won't.
I could talk about her yard and home,
how impeccable she maintained both,
but I won't.
I could talk about her art, how mysterious,
frightful and funny they still are,
but I won't.
Yeah, I could talk about those things
more than I just have, but I won't.
I can always talk about these things later,
And since I won't, let me just say that,
Mom took, in great pains, well care
of her family, all of her family. Including
those, outside of, as welcome members.
So, with that being said;
Thanks Mom,
You did good!
