

Denton “Buck” Devine passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. “Buck”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born to Alvin and Lydia Devine on October 16, 1923, in Stewart, MS.
Buck was a carman for 37 years at Union Pacific RR until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed the years he lived at the Lake of the Ozarks, traveling, morning coffee, and walking at the mall. His best times were spent visiting and laughing with family and friends, and sharing his endless stories of his past. A stranger would immediately become a friend.
In addition to his to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: J.B., Earl, Louie, and Paul. Buck is survived by his wife, May; daughter: Debbie (Doug) Moore; 2 grandchildren: Brian (Karla) and Bethany (Matt), and by 4 great grandchildren: Tyler S., Tanner S., Tyler M., and Kelsey M. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Alvin (Katy) and Bobby (Phyllis), and 3 sisters: Ila Ruth, Frances (Buster), Betty Ann (Bobby), and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special thanks are extended to Kansas City Hospice House for their exceptional care during Buck’s final days. Buck will be cremated according to his wishes.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 12 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will precede the service from 10-11 A.M. at the Chapel.
