Eleanor Faye Silady

Eleanor Faye Silady, age 91, passed away July 23, 2016 in Escondido, CA. The funeral Mass will be held in the Kansas City area with a rosary and visitation at 9 am on Thursday, July 28th, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Rd., Roeland Park, KS followed by Mass at 10am. Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Eleanor was born near Hill City, Kansas to Arva Findley Boothe and Harry Downs Blackburn. She received her Bachelors degree from Kansas State University and Certificate of Nursing from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Eleanor married Alexander F. Silady in 1946 and raised four boys in Roeland Park, KS. Eleanor was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Altar Society, Registered Nurse, Cub Scout den mother, and loving caregiver. Eleanor most recently resided in California. Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, brother Martin D. Blackburn, brothers in law, and sisters-in-law.

Eleanor is survived by her four sons (spouses) Dr. Fred (Cynthia) Silady, San Diego, CA, John (Mary) Silady, Suwanee, GA, Patrick (Margo) Silady, Niles, IL, and Michael (Gwen) Silady, Waukesha, WI; six grandchildren (spouses) Megan (Todd) Allen, Matthew (Anuja) Silady, Rebecca Silady, Terri Silady, Nicholas (Mona) Silady, and Emily Silady; four great grandchildren Luke, Isaac, Mikayla and Claira; sister-in-law, Jean Gleason; former daughter-in-law, Grace Magill and many nieces and nephews.
