Ernest (Ernie) James Bledsoe, 89, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away January 28, 2016. He was born on December 20, 1926, in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Roy and Ocie (Boggs) Bledsoe. He lived in Shawnee, Kansas before eventually settling in Ottawa. He was a devout Christian and veteran of the United States Army. Ernie retired from Flemings Foods in 1991, but continued to raise cattle, farmed land, and own rental properties.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Krebs) Bledsoe and daughter, Joyce (Bledsoe) Miller.
Ernie is survived by three sisters, two brothers, one son, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Visitation is 11am-1pm, Monday, February, 1, 2016 at Living Proof Church in Paola, Kansas. Burial will be at 3pm, Monday, in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, Kansas.
The love he gave in his life was as if he was sowing a seed. The seed that he nurtured will produce great harvest of fruits. We love you Papa!
