Ida J. Roderique

Ida Jean Roderique, 85, of Overland Park, KS passed away Jan. 7, 2013. Funeral services will be held Friday Jan. 11 at 12:30 at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9403 Mission Rd. Leawood, KS. Burial will follow the mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 83rd & Quivera Rd., Lenexa, KS.Ida was born April 25th, 1927 in Lamar MO to Gladys and August Niehaus. She graduated from Lamar HS in 1945 and Univ. of MO in 1950 with a degree in Home Economics. Worked for 2 yrs for the Missouri Extension Serv. Married Glennon W. Roderique in 1951. They moved to K.C. in 1952. She loved to spend time with her family, play bridge and write poetry. She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Glennon and her sister Helen Stettler. She is survived by her four children: Craig Roderique of Blanchard, OK, Leigh Roderique of Fairfax, VA, Cynthia Roderique of Marshfield, MO and Glen Roderique and wife Sirada of Overland Park, KS, five grandchildren: Nathan Van Sickle, Jenny & Brian West and Natalie & Anna Roderique, two great grandchildren: Desmond & Jenna Van Sickle and her sister Evelyn (Dene) Sooy of Riverside, CA.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Disabled Veterans Administration or Hospice.
