Scott was one of those rare individuals that didn’t “act” nice... he simply was sincerely a great guy. He always greeted me with “Richie Rich” or “Richie Cunningham”.... I will miss hearing that, before I shook his hand and hugged him. I enjoyed the many years of seeing him and talking about football, air planes, music and life in general. He showed me that in the face of anger you could shrug it off with a laugh and a shake of the head and continue to just stay true to being a nice person. I missed Scott after he moved back to Kansas, as he was a part of every holiday or special day meals in our family and he always made me feel like he was so happy to see me. He did the same for everyone and warmed each heart. We have lost a titan of a man who’s influence on many of us he could not fathom, but it will continue on in his memory.
Scott we love you and will sorely miss your presence in our lives and can only hope to be as nice and sweet a person to others as you showed us you were to us and someday we can pick up our conversations and football watching again. See ya! Is how he always got off the phone, and I echo that back to you looking down on us now.

Most people don't know that Scott had a little dog that he raised from a puppy. His name is Peanut and he loves Scott to no end!! Every time he saw Scott he would cry and pee himself until Scott picked him up, then he would lick him endlessly... I cannot say the word Daddy in my house or Peanut will run to the window and cry looking for Scott. Peanut and I and so many others miss Scott severely!!! Even my ex and his wife loved Scott! He was part of the Brackin family as much as the Mills. We all love you Scott and hope you are now Happy and also warm(he was always cold). Love and hugs Scott!!!

Scott and I became friends in fourth grade at Overland Park Elementary school. We went through junior high and high school together. We worked together at an apartment complex in Overland Park during high school. Even though Scott moved to Florida many years ago we stayed in touch . I will miss my dear old friend.
