Jane Ann (Breuer) Baltis, age 81, died at home on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from complications associated with a fall. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Jane Ann's home, 2515 West 65th Street, Mission Hills, Kansas 66208 from 2:00-4:00pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary, 23595 W. 223rd Street, Spring Hill, Kansas 66083.
Jane Ann was born and grew up in Springfield, Missouri, where she attended Parkview High School, where she was an honor student, participated in a variety of activities including choir and drama. She was an accomplished musician in both violin and piano and participated in the Springfield Beauty Pageant in which she was a runner up. After graduation she attended William & Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia and graduated with honors from the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory of Music.
Jane Ann excelled in anything she chose to pursue. She was a great and creative cook and gardener, traveled extensively and continued to play the piano. She was an avid reader and never without a book. She also loved cross word puzzles and Wordle. She loved her friends, family and especially her beloved pets: Phoebe, Ernest and Shadow.
Jane Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Doris Breuer; her husband, Rusty; and her step-son, David Baltis (Mary).
She is survived by her aunt, Rebul Kiely; her stepson, Russ Baltis; her sister, Nancy Breuer; Nancy's daughters, Ingrid and Erika Gerdes; her brother, Brad Breuer (Cathy); Brad's daughters, Anne Huitt (Parker) and Emily Bing (Hardt); and step daughter-in-law, Mary Baltis; and her dear friend, Carol Macomber.
