

Jerry Wayne Wyatt, 56 years old, was welcomed to his eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife, Karen; daughters, Katelyn and Emily; mother, Eva and brother, Tommy Wyatt.
Jerry was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to CSM Larry S. Wyatt and Eva Maria (Wortmann). As a child, he grew up in Germany, Tennessee, Texas and Georgia. Jerry graduated from Spencer High School in Columbus, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.
Jerry met Karen Lindley in Atlanta, Georgia, and they were married on September 22, 2001. They raised two daughters in Woodstock, Georgia and as a family they enjoyed traveling to the beach, Disney World and often went hiking, fishing and tubing in the north Georgia Mountains. Jerry’s passions were spending time with friends, scuba diving, skeet shooting and rock climbing. His true joy in life was being Katelyn and Emily’s Dad and taking many father daughter campouts at Girl Scouts Misty Mountain Camp. In 2018, Jerry and his family relocated to Overland Park, Kansas, and Jerry continued to work for Siemens where he was an employee for many years and stayed connected with current and former colleagues on LinkedIn.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, CSM Larry Sidney Wyatt; paternal grandmother, Nellie Waldrop, Waverly, Tennessee; and maternal grandparents, Barbara and Julian Wortmann, Nurnberg, Germany.
Jerry will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Karen (Lindley); beloved daughters, Katelyn Rachel and Emily Lindley; mother, Eva Maria (Wortmann) Wyatt, Columbus, Georgia; brother, Thomas Wyatt (Missie); niece, Charly Wyatt, Griffin, Georgia; father and mother-in-law, William and Bernice (Wiglesworth) Lindley, Overland Park, Kansas; brother-in-law, Richard Lindley (Steven Christianberry), Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Christine (Lindley) Arnette (James); nephew, Thomas Arnette, Lenexa, Kansas; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to his daughters' educational funds. Please make check payable to Karen Wyatt with memo line “Education Fund” and the contributions will be divided between Katelyn currently attending Pittsburg State University and Emily currently attending Olathe East High School 21st Century Design Academy.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 10th at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66204. His funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Friday, August 11th at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel. His committal service will immediately follow in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 W 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66227.
