Jill Annette (Patrick) Greig

Jill Annette (Patrick) Greig, 48, of Overland Park, KS passed away February 26, 2015 at home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, March 2nd at The Wesley Center at the Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS. Burial in Sioux City, IA, at a later date. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, March 1st at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Wayside Waifs, or Shawnee Mission Medical Center Foundation.

Jill was born on October 3, 1966 in Sioux City, IA. She attended East High School in Sioux City, IA. She studied pre-vet at Iowa State University before graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City in 1989. Jill achieved her RN license and began a career in nursing at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, IA. She married Jeff Greig on September 23, 1989 in Sioux City and moved to Overland Park, KS after spending four years with Jeff in the Washington, DC area. After some time in private practice, she started a 21 year career at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Her first daughter, Justine was born November 18, 1996. Her second daughter, Jessica was born June 4, 1999. Jill continued her education and received a BSN degree in Nursing from UMKC in 1999. Her career eventually led to management positions in Infection Control at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC). Jill held Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control.

She loved her girls, her family, her faith, long road trips by car, animals, cooking and music. Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chloris and George Grubel and Lucille Magel; and her brother-in-law, Bruce. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; daughters, Justine (18) and Jessica (15); mother, Judy (Ralph) Petrik of Overland Park, KS; father, Doug (Shirley) Patrick of Sioux City, IA; brothers, Craig (Michele) Patrick of Hudson, WI, Scott (Vivian) Patrick of Sioux City, IA and Ross Patrick of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-law, Brian Greig of Australia; in-laws, Curt and Sandy Greig of Jacksonville, IL and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jill will be lovingly remembered for her kind and caring heart and for putting others before herself.
