John F. Langford

John F. Langford, 90, of Overland Park, KS died on August 14, 2013 at Kansas City Hospice House. He is survived by his wife, Betty, sons David Langford, wife Heidi, and Alan Langford, wife Chris; grandchildren Jonathan Langford, wife Anya, Megan Rottmann, husband Paul, Matthew Langford and Joshua Langford; and a great-grandson, Grant Langford.

John graduated from Gibson High School, Gibson, TN, attended University of Memphis and received a degree from the University of Tennessee School of Pharmacy in 1949. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Cordova, TN where he served as a deacon and teacher of children in Sunday School. An avid golfer, John enjoyed all sports and played tennis weekly with a team of friends. Due to advancing age and the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, John and his wife moved to Kansas in 2009 to be near family.

A memorial service will be at 12:00 noon Monday, August 19, 2013 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church in Overland Park with visitation from 11:00 am prior to the service. Graveside services will be at the National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS.
