

Josephine Larman, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on February 24, 2015. Visitation at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St. OPKS on Saturday, February 28 from 9:30am-10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Holy Cross Church or KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall, KCMO.
Born July 18, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Nellie Keane. She attended St. James grade school and graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy. She wed Bernard Larman, the boy next door, on October 11, 1952 and was happily married 52 years until his death in 2004. She was his devoted caregiver for the last years of his life. Josephine worked for General Motors and resigned after her first child was born. She re-entered the workforce after her children were in school. God and her family were her top priorities. She truly believed in the power of prayer. She constantly prayed for family and friends, even strangers. Many that knew her would ask her to pray for special intentions. Josephine was a strong, humble, compassionate woman who always put others before herself. She adored the countless hours she spent caring for her grandchildren. Josephine had a phenomenal memory, especially with birthdates. She was a great cook and loved to host all the family gatherings. She enjoyed traveling home and abroad. She loved dancing throughout her life. Josephine was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she was a greeter and member of the Sunshine Club. She enjoyed preparing and serving many breakfasts for the Sunshine Club. She prepared food for funeral dinners and St. Mary’s food kitchen. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Beta Sigma Phi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Joe, Felix and Dutch Keane; sisters, Kate Boos, Eileen Keane, Cecilia Brull and Marjorie Doyle. She is survived by her four children, Maureen Larman, Mary Barrick, Bernie Larman, and Steve Larman (wife Rachel). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Alex, Jake and Quinn Larman, Safire Waldron (husband Josh), James and Lauren Barrick and two great-grandchildren, Ronan and Addison Waldron. She will be dearly missed.
