Joyce Elayne Allen Scott, 93, of Lenexa, KS passed away on December 13, 2017 at Evergreen Community Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at New Haven SDA Church, 8714 Antioch, Overland Park, KS. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Church prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
Joyce was born on May 10, 1924 in Lucky Hill, St. Mary, Jamaica. She married Beresford Scott and was a retired Nurse Midwife. Joyce is preceded in death by her father, George Gilbert Allen; mother, Alice McDougal Allen; sisters, Tatlain Francis and Florence Brenda Russell; brothers, Jeffrey, Roy and Everton Allen. She is survived by daughters, Jennifer Anette Scott, Janet Yolanda Marsie-Hazen, Joan Cecile Williams, Carmeta Denise Scott-Shaw and Karen Elisabeth Scott; brother, Gervais “Ivan” Allen; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and loved ones.
