Kenneth Charles Farris, age 75, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:30 am - 10:30 am on Thursday, May 30th at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st Street, Overland Park, KS, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at the Church. Please join our family downstairs at the Church for a "Celebration of Life" luncheon, following the Mass.
Kenny was born January 14, 1949 to Charles and Mary Farris. He married Sandy Roth on June 26, 1981 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church. He was blessed with 3 children, TC Farris (Bridget), Kathleen Murdock (Tim), and Steven Farris. More blessings were to come with four grandchildren: Owen Murdock, Adelyn Farris, Aryana Farris, and Audrey Farris.
Kenny (Wormy) started his lifelong career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in 1969, as a switchman and conductor. He retired in 2009, after 40 years with the company. After retirement, he worked 3 days a week for Enterprise Leasing Company.
He enjoyed hunting pheasant/quail and NASCAR racing. The thrill of his life came true, when he got to drive a nascar at the Kansas Speedway.
Kenny is preceded in death by father, Charles; mother, Mary; and son, Chad. He is survived by wife, Sandy; 3 children; 4 grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Farris.
