

Leo Lloyd Lalumondier, known as Lloyd, died June 30, 2015 at age 91. Visitation will be 5-8pm, with prayer service at 6:30 pm, on Monday, July 6th at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS.
Lloyd was born in Bloomsdale, MO. He was a longtime resident of Festus, MO and recently of Mission, KS where he lived with his daughter, then an assisted living facility. He was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City, MO. He was a civil service instructor at Scott AFB in Illinois during WWII. His childhood interest in flying was realized when he became an aircraft mechanic, aircraft inspector and licensed pilot. He was a maintenance electrician at PPG and retired from there.
He had interest in music at an early age, played several instruments, but truly loved the fiddle/violin. He was a member of the Old Time Missouri Fiddler’s Association. He was featured in “Play Me Something Quick and Devilish”, a history by Howard Marshall about Old-Time Fiddlers in Mo. He enjoyed family travels and played music with hundreds of musicians over the years and enjoyed every minute of it.
Lloyd was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Georgena Hope Lalumondier(Curtis), his parents Albert Amos Lalumondier and Mary Josephine Lalumondier (Doerge); 6 sisters: Erline (Leo) Meyer, Ethel (Harry) Anderson, Ester Lalumondier (infant), Edith (Vernon) Taylor, Myrtle (Emmett) Carron, Irma (Duke) Hill. He is survived by 5 children: Curtis J. (Rosie) Lalumondier, Denise (Gene) Seib, Lucia Lalumondier, Daria (Mike) Carpenter, Julia (Larry) Lalumondier-Hamel; 3 Grandchildren: Jeff (Stephanie) Lalumondier, Michelle (Danny) Shoemake, Kari (Eric) Hanson and 10 Great-Grandchildren: Garret, Conner, Tanner, Logan, Brennan and Jenna Lalumondier; Ashley and Emily Shoemake; and Lilliana and Callen Hanson.
Lloyd will be greatly missed by family, friends, and foot-tapping music lovers.
