Lois W. Statesel

Lois Statesel, 89, of Lenexa, KS, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. Lois was born on Nov. 21, 1928 to Walter and Irene Kellams in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Center High School and worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She married Frank E. Statesel, Jr., on Oct. 24, 1953 and were married for 60 years. They had four children: Mark (Becky), Susan Long, Greg, and Elizabeth (Ron) Lewerke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Greg; her parents; five sisters and a son-in-law, Randall. She is survived by her remaining 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Lois and Frank loved to travel, and she loved to quilt. She was always happy to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois was a member of Southwest Community Church in Olathe, KS. Her visitation will be held 6-8 PM, Thursday, Oct. 18 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, Oct. 19 at Maple Hills Cemetery, 2301 S 34th St, Kansas City, KS 66106.
