Marcia Kathleen Potucek Streepy, Shawnee, KS passed away May 9, 2022 at home. Visitation will be Thursday, May 12 from 5 pm to 8 pm at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Park, KS. Funeral services will begin at 10:30am on Friday, May 13 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Mission, KS. Interment service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, May 14 in Hutchinson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marica was born on June 15, 1952, in Wellington, KS and grew up in Hutchinson. Marcia graduated from Marymount College with a degree in Nursing (BSN) and worked many years as an RN in hospitals, schools, and public health but painting was her life. She started painting with her mother, Pat Potucek, when she was a child. She believed that “What God has created inspires me to show in paintings the beauty of the land.” Her work has been shown in national and international exhibitions across the Unites States and has received numerous awards. Not only did she create stunning art, she made many friends in the art world and in her life of faith. Life is short, art is long.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Shawn Streepy; daughter, Leah Streepy; daughter Jessica Lynn; son-in-law, Zeb Lynn, and her beloved grandchildren, Nora and Leo Lynn. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, Monica Bryant, Lesle Knop, Scott Potucek, and Shannon Elliott, and their loving families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Charles Potucek and brother, Charles Todd Potucek.
