Margaret Mary "Peggy" Dapp went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 91 years of age. At the time of her passing, Peggy was a resident of Travanse Living at Olathe Retirement Community in Olathe, KS.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Dapp Sr., whom she married on May 20th, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA. All 5 of her siblings, her daughters, Debi DeHoney and Maureen Vernon, as well as her son, Jeff Dapp also preceded her in death. Peggy's surviving children are: Raymond T. Dapp Jr., Tom Dapp, Megan Ford, Dan Dapp, Jo Ehler and Janet Lacy. Peggy had several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved each and every one of her family members with all of her heart and prayed for peace and unity over all of them daily.
Peggy moved from Pennsylvania to Overland Park, KS in the early 1960s and loved living here. She was a devoted fan of her beloved KC Chiefs and KC Royals- often times supporting the teams by wearing her favorite team shirt on game day. If you called to talk with Peggy when the Chiefs were being televised, you better do it during half-time
Soon after her husband died in 1974, Peggy went to school; obtaining her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and going to work immediately for various doctors. Peggy worked diligently in the medical field for 40 plus years and retired at the age of 85 from the Women's Clinic of Johnson County. She fully enjoyed her work at WCJC, especially when she would get to help counsel newly expectant moms.
Peggy never met a stranger. She would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime and typically ended the conversation with a "God Bless You." Ever the comedian, Peggy had a quick wit and sense of humor- it became her personal mission to "always leave them laughing" and she typically did. Loving to give people her "just Food for Thought." Her wisdom and wit will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank all the many wonderful workers at Travanse Living. Thanks and appreciation also goes to the Catholic Charities Hospice RNs and volunteers who treated her with love, compassion and friendship.
Service for Peggy will be held where she was a long-time member at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, making a monetary donation to Holy Cross' Meditation Garden in Peggy's name would be greatly appreciated.
