March 21, 1936 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Liberty High School and lived in the Kansas City area most of her life with a short time living in Florida.
Margie worked as a florist for many years in Kansas City. She enjoyed spending time with her family, ice skating, dog shows, riding horses, going to air shows and loved a good winter snow storm. Margie was a strong, independent woman who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by son, David Harkins (Cheryl) in Overland Park, KS; daughter, Karen Scarboro (Geno, deceased) in Omaha, NE; Grandchildren, Brad Shapiro (Tanya) in Chicago, IL, Lauren Scarboro in Omaha, NE, Samantha Harkins in Overland Park, KS, Bridget Jarman (Tanner) in Shawnee, KS, and Tim Harkins in Salina, KS; Great Grandchildren, Alycia, Connor and Isaac Shapiro and great-granddaughter, Riley Bryant-Harkins. Margie was fondly referred to as “Big Paw Paw” by her son’s family.
Due to the COVID-19 there will be no services at this time. Cremation services by McGilley and Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel in Overland Park, KS.
