

Marjorie Dee Little died on February 10, 2015 at home in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 95. She was born on January 27, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the oldest of two children of Ethel and Gottfried Johnson. She graduated from Central High School and Kansas City Junior College. She went to New York to pursue her modeling career and returned to Kansas City where she modeled and also was an Ice Skating Instructor at the Pla-Mor Palace. She met her husband, Charles A. Little, who was a hockey player at the Pla-Mor. She married the only man in her life on May 27, 1943 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
While her husband was overseas in World War II, she worked for the United State Arm at Remington Arms. But her most important career was Mother. After her husband’s death at 40, she became Mother and Father to her 4 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Gottfried Johnson, her brother, Dr. William E. Johnson and her husband, Charles Addison Little. She is survived by her son, Gary C. Little of Palm Beach, Florida; her daughter, Diane Little of Olathe, Kansas; her daughter, Patty Sue Philhour and her husband Kim of Jacksonville, Florida; her son Christopher J. Little and his wife Laurie of Jacksonville, Florida. She had 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11am, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, online or 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38015.
