Melvin Mason Johnson
February 19, 1932 – May 11, 2022

Melvin Mason Johnson, age 90, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his home. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 18th at Nall Avenue Baptist Church, 6701 Nall Avenue, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208. Funeral services to follow at 12 Noon at the Church. Private Family burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to City Union Mission.
Melvin was born on February 19, 1932 in Wolf Point, Montana. He married Sue on June 10th, 1955. He served as 1st Lt Infantry from 1955-1958. Melvin was an active member of Nall Avenue Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, and various positions. He loved the outdoors, particularly Montana. He often returned during branding season. He loved the Lord and his family.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father, William G. Johnson; mother, Thelma Mason Johnson and his brother, William L. Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Johnson; children, Karen Gould (Roger), Lori Victorine (Thomas), Linda Athon (John), Brenda Wilcox (Jeffrey), and Judy Huffman (Chuck); 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Donald Earl Johnson.
