He was born January 28,1958 to Candelaria (Reveles) and Elisardo Alvarado.
Mike graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1976. The day after graduation, he went off to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy as Second Class Petty Officer. He always talked about his time as a Ctyptoligic Technician, his time on the USS Oklahoma, and his time spent at Diego Garcia, San Diego, Pensacola, the Middle East and in Japan.
After his time in the service, he worked for years as a Business Analyst, but his true passion was photography. After being laid off in 2008, he was able to make a career out of his passion. He was able to shoot and meet many people on large and small scales - from quinceaneras and weddings, to sporting events, to big name celebrity concerts, to presidents and world diplomats! His work was featured in newspapers, websites and even Lowrider Magazine. His favorite concerts being Vicente Fernandez, JLo and Pitbull. He touched many lives while doing so and he never met anyone that wasn't a friend.
He married Rose Marie on October 10, 1981. They were married for 38 years and truly were the definition of marital vows: in sickness and in health. In 2017 his wife was diagnosed with cancer a second time. While she fought for three years, he cared for and never left her side.
Michael is survived by his three children: Jackie (Joe) Daniels, Michelle (Anthony) Boykin, and John Michael Alvarado, 6 grandchildren: Jowell (Tiana) Daniels, Jr., Mona (Santy) Corredor, Anthony Boykin, Jr., Joshua Daniels, Javier Daniels and Armon Boykin. His siblings: Bea Gomez, Rosie (Frank) Marstall, Connie Alvarado, Mary Mesa, Pat (Fernando) Conejo, Josephine Alvarado, Theresa (Ignacio) Romero and Charles (Patty) Alvarado.
He is reunited in death with his beloved wife, Rose, his parents, Cande and Charlie Alvarado and his brother, John Raymond Alvarado.
