Nancy J. O'Connor

January 3, 1931 – March 20, 2012

Born to James and Elizabeth O' Conner on January 3, 1931 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Older sister to James “Jimmy” O'Connor. Nancy passed away March 20, 2012 at home. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm,, Tuesday, March 27 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel with a funeral service, Wednesday March 28 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Ks. Memorials can be made to Catholic Charities.

Nancy graduated from Westinghouse High School, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was married to Richard Byrd Farrow in 1951 and over the years they gave birth to six daughters.

Nancy raised her family in ever-changing locations as her and Richard moved several times during their marriage. She lived in Pennsylvania; New York; Wisconsin; and Florida. Since 1979 Nancy was single and moved to be near her daughters; first to Minneapolis, MN; then to Milwaukee, WI and then finally to Overland Park, KS.

Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter Ellen "Ellie" Farrow and is survived by her brother James (Sue) O'Connor and her daughters Carol (James) Gallagher, Peggy (Al) Klug, Diana (Mark) Lucchi, Jan Stahl and Mary (Jim) Neal and her grandchildren Jason Laupert, Christopher Klug, Heather Klug, Patricia Johnson, Alyssa Neal and Nicole Stahl.

Nancy was raised Catholic and remained involved in the Christian faith her entire life. She enjoyed being with her family and traveling. She also enjoyed walking, swimming and volunteering.

Nancy will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who gave encouragement and warmth and strived to keep her family together. We will miss her smile, her laugh and especially her wonderful hugs.
