Patricia Ann Atcheson, 79 years young, departed this world on March 23, 2012, to continue her everlasting life with God. Pat, Patsy, Patricia, Mom, Mamma, Grammy and Great-Grandma were many loving names she heard throughout her life. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan in 1932 to Julia and Joseph Eychas After high school she ventured off to Northern California and worked as a phone operator for Southwestern Bell. It was there that she met her loving husband of 46 years, Ronald G. Atcheson and began her loving family. Together they traveled from city to city and eventually planted their roots in Leawood, KS, in 1969. Pat was a devout Catholic woman who always put her faith in God above everything else. She was a member of Cure of Ars Parish for the past 30 years and was committed to the sanctity of daily Mass and Eucharist adoration. She was a strong, talented and creative woman who empowered those skills for the goodwill of her family. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald G. Atcheson on January 30, 1999; by her parents Julia and Joseph Eychas; brothers: Walt, Joseph and John Eychas; and her sisters: Ann Eychas, Joan LeFrainer, and Bea Stymus. She is survived by her loving children: Deborah G. Underwood (daughter) and husband Steve of Tonganoxie, KS; Ronald C. Atcheson (son) and wife Kathy of Overland Park, KS; Neil J. Atcheson (son) and wife Melody of Raymore, MO; Kurt E. Atcheson (son) of Kansas City, MO; Chad P. Atcheson (son) and wife Lilly of Overland Park, KS; Michael D. Atcheson (son) and wife Mary of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Laurie Atcheson (daughter) of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Ashley, Tracy, Ryan, Sarah, Ronnie, Shauna, Brandon, Jason, Lauren, Emily, C.J., Mallory, Michael Jr., and Lexus; great grandchildren: Jordyn, Lacy, Emily, Dalton, Austin, Alex, Brooke, Allison, Lindsey, James, Madelyn; and her sister, Julie LaMore of Saginaw, MI.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Sunday, March 25 with the Rosary being prayed at 6:30pm at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Monday, March 26 at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
