Pat was born January 30, 1957 to Thomas and Joanne Lynch. He was raised in Roeland Park, Kansas and was a 1975 graduate of Bishop Miege High School. He was a dedicated employee at Metals USA for 37 years, where he became known as, “The Legend.” Pat was an avid sports fan, especially of the Royals, Chiefs and KU basketball. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and eventually put the bat down in exchange for his golf clubs, which he loved and played as often as he could weather permitting and sometimes even when it wasn’t. Pat was very proud of his Irish Heritage and loved marching and dancing on the streets, when he was supposed to be on the curb, at the St. Patrick’s Day Parades. He then spent several years and countless hours of working and building the Lynch Family floats, and proudly carried their flag in the parades all over the city, where their floats won many awards over the years.
More than anything, Pat loved and cherished his family, all his family, and would move heaven and earth for them. He was so very proud of his children, and could love nothing more and would do everything in his power for them to make sure they were always happy, safe and loved.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Joanne E. Lynch; sisters, Eileen Lynch and Julie Peterson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly and children, Chrissy Wright, Katie Lynch, Patrick Lynch, Jr., and Michaela White; grandsons, Caleb and Isaac; brothers, Mike Lynch and Jerry Lynch (Lisa); and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and innumerable friends.
His visitation will be 5-8pm, Friday, April 23 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Park, Kansas. His memorial mass will begin at 10am on Saturday, April 24 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson, Mission, Kansas 66202. Inurnment to follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
