Ralph Anthony Allen, 84, of Overland Park, KS, passed away February 15, 2011, at Villa St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.

Ralph was born August 12, 1926, in Kansas City, KS, to Henry & Mary Allen. He attended Ward High School and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He worked for Frisco Railroad and retired from Shawnee Mission post office after 27 years. He married Etta M. Hollatz in May 1954. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Etta Allen; daughter Becky (Steve) Rimmer, Leawood, KS, and son, Michael Allen, Folsom, CA, and 3 grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia and Madeleine Rimmer. He was a founding member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Sunshine Club, American Legion Post #370 & National Association of Retired Letter Carriers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House or Holy Cross Catholic Church.
